NHS AfC: Band 5

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community health and care provider in Sussex. Our expert teams deliver a wide range of medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 9,000 people a day, serving a total population of 1.3 million.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care at the heart of the community. In July 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave us an improved 'Good' rating, with 'Outstanding' features. 96% of our patients said they would recommend our services to their friends and family, and we attribute this to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our teams.

We offer our staff a multitude of benefits; flexible working, free health and wellbeing checks, three tax efficient workplace nurseries rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and a wide range of exciting learning and development opportunities including external courses, conferences, and a Graduate Studentship Scheme.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse to join our established nursing and medical team within the Urgent Treatment Centre at Crawley Hospital. The service provides urgent and unscheduled care 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week with a fully integrated ambulatory primary care service for the Crawley population and surrounding communities. There is also a designated paediatric and adolescent area within the UTC. The unit has recently been remodelled and redesigned to provide a modern clinical environment that is responsive to both staff and patients needs.

You will require experience of working as an Emergency/Urgent Care/Acute Care setting with evidence of consolidation of nursing skills. You will be expected to assess and prioritise all patients presenting to the unit whilst ensuring safe, efficient, and effective treatment of all patients within a predefined target time of arrival to the Unit.

The successful candidate will be committed to service improvements with an acceptance of change, and desire to work in a positive environment that embraces the challenges urgent care faces as the service moves forward.

You will demonstrate a calm and confident approach to your work demonstrating excellent nursing and communication skills and the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively.

The Urgent Treatment Centre is seeking a motivated and experienced nurse from an Emergency background with at least 6 months experience within Acute Care and a consolidated proven track record of emergency care skills to join our team.
