Job Details

NHS AfC: Band 7

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community health and care provider in Sussex. Our expert teams deliver a wide range of medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 9,000 people a day, serving a total population of 1.3 million.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care at the heart of the community. In July 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave us an improved 'Good' rating, with 'Outstanding' features. 96% of our patients said they would recommend our services to their friends and family, and we attribute this to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our teams.

We offer our staff a multitude of benefits; flexible working, free health and wellbeing checks, three tax efficient workplace nurseries rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and a wide range of exciting learning and development opportunities including external courses, conferences, and a Graduate Studentship Scheme.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

CBT Therapists / Clinical Health Psychologists / Counselling Psychologists

We currently have exciting opportunities for experienced CBT Therapists, Clinical or Counselling Psychologists to join our award winning and innovative LTC-IAPT service, Time to Talk Health where we're committed to working psychologically with adult patients with long term health conditions.

These are unique roles to provide holistic evidenced-based interventions and really set the scene for parity of esteem across physical and mental health services in West Sussex. Our highly regarded service continues to support patient care by adhering to nice guidelines and ensuring our patients receive the right treatment, for the right duration, at the right time.

As we're integrated within a number of physical healthcare pathways these roles will suit Therapists who enjoy working alongside other healthcare professional groups in order to improve patient outcomes.

Based in either Horsham or Worthing, every day is varied as you'll be working in different settings supporting patients with mild to moderate anxiety and/or depression. Additionally there's plenty of opportunity to use your consultation skills and collaborate with various partner organisations and patient groups for which we'll provide you with all the support you need. Working in a team mix of Step 2 and Step 3 clinicians, you'll be supported daily by the admin team and strategically by the management team to contribute to the continued success of our service. A confident self-starter, you'll also need to be an excellent team-player with good communication skills and a can-do attitude.

For the right candidates these roles will provide excellent career-progression opportunities for which we'll provide additional training as required. As part of the high performing and successful Time to Talk IAPT service, you'll receive good-quality, regular clinical supervision and support to develop joint working with various physical healthcare teams. Working in a variety of healthcare settings you'll need to be a car driver and willing to travel to different sites as required. Those based in Horsham cover the north locality (Crawley/Horsham/Mid Sussex) and those in Worthing cover coastal locality (Worthing/Chichester/Midhurst). Some evening work will be required.

For further details or to arrange an informal visit we encourage interested applicants to contact our Clinical Lead, Debbie Barnett by email: sc-tr.LTCreferrals@nhs.net or phone 07342 083427.
