Band 3

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community health and care provider in Sussex. Our expert teams deliver a wide range of medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 9,000 people a day, serving a total population of 1.3 million.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care at the heart of the community. In July 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave us an improved 'Good' rating, with 'Outstanding' features. 96% of our patients said they would recommend our services to their friends and family, and we attribute this to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our teams.

We offer our staff a multitude of benefits; flexible working, free health and wellbeing checks, three tax efficient workplace nurseries rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and a wide range of exciting learning and development opportunities including external courses, conferences, and a Graduate Studentship Scheme.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, well-organised person who relates well to children, to work under the supervision of Speech and Language Therapists in Special and Mainstream Schools in the Crawley and Horsham area. There may also be a requirement to work in Early Years Clinical settings according to need. Previous experience of working with children with complex needs and in school settings is essential.

The successful candidate will be required to be involved in:

• Making materials to be used in therapy
• Making IT based resources, e.g. communication passports
• Filing, and setting up therapy rooms
• Cleaning therapy equipment in accordance with Sussex Community NHS Trust Infection Control Policy
• Assisting in group work with children
• Working with individual children under the guidance of a therapist
• Organising training sessions for school staff

Full training will be given but the candidate must be able to self-reflect in order to develop and maintain competency to practice through continuing professional development. The candidate must be a good communicator and willing to work as part of a team.

Full or part time considered.
