NHS AfC: Band 7

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is the largest community health and care provider in Sussex. Our expert teams deliver a wide range of medical, nursing and therapeutic care to over 9,000 people a day, serving a total population of 1.3 million.

We pride ourselves in providing excellent care at the heart of the community. In July 2018, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) gave us an improved 'Good' rating, with 'Outstanding' features. 96% of our patients said they would recommend our services to their friends and family, and we attribute this to the hard work and dedication of each and every one of our teams.

We offer our staff a multitude of benefits; flexible working, free health and wellbeing checks, three tax efficient workplace nurseries rated 'Good' and 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, and a wide range of exciting learning and development opportunities including external courses, conferences, and a Graduate Studentship Scheme.

The Trust is signed up to the disability confident scheme and we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Dietitian to join our small, friendly team based in the Sussex countryside at Uckfield Hospital.

You will provide a community service including outpatient clinics and home visits for complex gastroenterology patients located in the High Weald, Lewes and Havens area. There will be the opportunity to establish group education for patients e.g. Low FODMAP groups and to provide clinical updates in Gastroenterology for community teams. You will work closely with the General Practitioners and community therapy teams.

You will supervise and inspire other members of the Dietetic team while being supported by the Professional Dietetic lead.

A good understanding of the Home eternal feeding service will be required to ensure a seamless service delivery.

Our current post holder says:

"Working as a community Gastro Specialist Dietitian is a wonderfully challenging and rewarding position that will enhance your knowledge and develop your CPD.
