A superb opportunity has arisen within this major Financial Services organisation in the Brighton area, for a Business Analyst to join their very effective Change & Transformation team, who operate with energy & at pace.

Sitting between the business and technology teams, this Business Analyst will primarily be business facing so knowledge of Pensions, Annuities, Insurance or the wider Financial Services industry would be beneficial.

Much of the Business Analyst’s initial focus will be leading requirements elicitation processes on both business & to a lesser extent, IT projects. Working with senior stakeholders & Actuaries, the Business Analyst will enjoy projects including Product development, Pricing & Launch, so along with good analysis skills, excellent communication skills and attention to detail are required.

Often working self-sufficiently, the Business Analyst will use their business understanding to translate the needs into requirements and will work closely with 3rd party suppliers, both on & off shore, to ensure the business gets what it expects & needs.

Duties:
  • Undertake activities and deliverables for defining the business opportunity/problem, planning and executing business analysis activities.
  • Identify business opportunities through stakeholder relationships, shaping ideas, creating and promoting solutions and gaining senior management buy-in
  • Deliver projects to agreed cost, timescales and quality to enable the organisation to achieve its’ goals and objectives.
  • Along with knowledge of business, you will also have experience of IT change and innovative use of IT tools to enhance outcomes.
  • Energy, creativity and a collaborative approach are the key behaviours that underpin this role.
  • Conduct requirements validation with stakeholders, gain appropriate approvals and manage the change processes for requirements documentation, ensuring there is clear requirements traceability throughout the lifecycle of the project
  • Critically review and evaluate any proposed solutions identifying alignment with business strategies making recommendations to key stakeholders ensuring they are fully aware of key risks and assumptions
  • Continually evaluate the quality of all deliverables, including those of 3rd parties, to ensure the end product is fit for purpose and acceptable to all stakeholders
  • Understand the principles of Business Transformation and translate these principles into business/people change activities and project outcomes
  • Ensure that the principles of Conduct Risk and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) are embedded into your day to day operations to deliver good customer outcomes
  • With projects & programmes often running across different business locations, expensed travel to other sites is to be expected
Skills/Knowledge Preferred:
  • Good business analysis skills
  • Business & IT Change/Transformation experience
  • Excellent people & communications skills
  • Strong collaboration skills including working with Project Managers and Test Managers / Analysts
  • Knowledge of Pensions, Annuities, Asset & Liability Management, Investments or Insurance is beneficial
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, the business and 3rd party suppliers
  • Energetic nature and enjoys working at pace
Useful Qualifications:
  • Ideally, degree level qualification, or equivalent experience
  • IIBA Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA) or BSC ISEB Foundation Certificate in Business Analysis is useful.
