You will work with the Head of Compliance, the compliance team and the Assurance, Risk & Compliance department to ensure that our business follows UK and international legal and regulatory requirements. You will work across all areas of the business, providing guidance on areas such as, the Financial Conduct Authority, Consumer Credit Act, Ministry Of Justice, Financial Ombudsman Services and Data Protection.

 

As a Compliance Officer your remit will include:

  • Building, communicating and training compliance policies and procedures across the business.
  • Building, maintaining and reviewing Compliance policies, procedures and annual reminders for the Company, to ensure compliance with Financial Services and Markets Act and other legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Preparing compliance reports, when you are requested to the specified standards, including format, style and timeliness
  • You will provide guidance to senior management and colleagues on all legal and regulatory matters
  • Working closely with our business for preparation of management information and guidance in the event of a thematic review
  • Coaching and sharing knowledge of your own subject expertise and sharing your lessons learned from ongoing projects, activities and various seminars and networking events
  • Developing external networks
  • Focusing on setting and achieving business goals
  • Continuing to respond to business and external events and developing the policies and processes to ensure it is reflective of any changes

Required experience:

  • Working knowledge of risk assessment and identification
  • To have a deep understanding of the Financial Conduct Authority requirements for insurance intermediaries
  • A consistent record and understanding of working in a regulated environment
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels

Personal attributes

  • You are able to demonstrate networking skills and the ability to sustain effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at a senior level
  • Possess and demonstrate influencing, persuasion and negotiating skills
  • Presents with confidence to senior leaders
  • PC Literate with good knowledge of Word/ Excel
  • Be able to work on own initiative
  • High level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills verbally and in writing
  • Experience of dealing with the Financial Conduct Authority and other regulatory bodies
  • Act with integrity and due skill, care and diligence at all times
