The Complex Claims team are looking for an experienced Technical Negotiator to proactively manage a portfolio of cases, investigating liability and third party presented quantum claims.

Role purpose

To assist and support our customers when they need us most by proactively managing a portfolio of cases, investigating liability and third party presented quantum claims and agreeing fair outcomes within policy and legal liability. This includes;


Maintaining an awareness of third party behaviours and changes in relevant legislation to understand the market place and handling approaches to provide suggestions for improvements

Developing self in line with the competency framework in order to maximise personal contribution to your role and to understand how it fits into the wider Claims operating model

Accountabilities

o   Gathering of information to enable early arrival at the correct liability decision giving consideration to economic settlement, pro-actively secure appropriate recoveries to limit business exposure

o   Settle Third Party Claims within financial handling authority to achieve the optimum claims settlement using department and best practice strategies, whilst at all times giving appropriate consideration to avoidance of unjustified litigation and unnecessary spend. Ensure that any cases that are over authority are referred appropriately and within agreed timescales.

o   Identify potential fraudulent cases and liaise with the relevant departments to combat fraud

o   Negotiating between the Policy holder, Solicitors and Third Parties to get the best outcome for our customers

o   Manage and own the customer experience (including third party), ensuring adherence at all times to the principles of Treating Customers Fairly and Internal Processes and Procedures

o   Manage and maintain effective relationship with both internal (Hire, Intervention, Customer Claims, Counter Fraud, Underwriting) and external stakeholders (Repairers, Solicitors, Investigators) to ensure service level agreements, internal and external policies and governance are adhered to

o   Provide excellent referral responses providing coaching/mentoring for Claims Negotiators where required.  Provide support to the Coaching Team/Team Leaders to assist in the development of Claims Negotiators using experience and knowledge gained in role.

o   Good Level of Computer Skills

o   Good Level of Commercial Awareness

Desirable

o   Motor Claims Experience of dealing with cases in excess of £25000.00

o   Completion of Insurance Based Qualification (Cert CII etc.)

o   Knowledge of Litigation Process (Fast Track/Stage 3)

 

Qualifications

o   Educated to minimum GCSE level or equivalent
