Hastings Direct are making a step change in how we deliver

procurement in our business. We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious

individuals to play a key role in this journey to augment our existing team and

to provide us with new capability. You

will actively develop stakeholder relationships and manage categories of spend to

unlock value from effective procurement for the business, - whilst keeping one

step ahead by identifying new opportunities. If you enjoy complex procurement

projects and love getting in to the detail, this role could be a potentially

great match. Be part of the team to build a new Procurement operation at

Hastings Direct.

The Role

Working across a wide range of Hastings Direct procurement

categories to deliver high value or medium to high risk procurement projects.

The role holder will be working at all levels in the business up to Executive

level in managing the end to end procurement process on their assigned

initiatives. In addition the role will

be responsible for establishing preferred supplier lists, improved procurement

self-serve capability and supporting the embedding of a more efficient and

robust process for the future.



Working across a range of categories, run

procurement end to end activities (request for information and / or Proposal,

negotiation, due diligence etc. through to contract signing) for mid/ high

value spend (£50k+).


Agree and deliver against target signing dates,

ensuring all aspects of procurement (including due diligence) have been

completed, prioritising appropriately and ensuring that proportional effort is

applied to each contract to deliver excellent results in an acceptable



Liaise with legal to support business owners in

a smooth contracting process, with key clauses and outcomes clearly understood.


Identify opportunities for procurement to drive

increased value and deliver upon those opportunities.


Build a strong partnership with business leads,

ensuring early engagement, making the process easy for them, with clear inputs,

deliverables and acceptable turnaround times for completion of procurement


Skills Knowledge & Experience

At least 4-5 years in a

similar role.

CIPS qualified, or working

towards CIPS qualification.


presentation and influencing skills.

Highly organised, and able

to manage multiple projects at a time whilst consistently paying attention

to detail

Effective stakeholder


Happy with change and

willing to contribute new ideas.
