Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of food and drink to standards as defined by the manager.
• Serving food and drinks and operating the till to take cash and cards at the point of sale.
• Cleaning and wash cutlery, crockery and kitchen equipment.
• Clearing and clean tables and chairs in the cafes.
• Ensuring floors and work surfaces are kept clean at all times.
• Assisting the Catering Manager with a variety of administrative tasks, as relevant, when directed to do so.
• Providing excellent customer service at all times.
• Projecting a polite manner to customers and other members of staff at all times.
• Observing health and hygiene standards at all times and ensure they are upheld in the kitchen and front of house areas.
• Maintaining Health and Safety Hygiene standards at all times. Ensure unit hygiene is implemented with due regard to the statutory laws including the Food safety Act 1990.
• Following instructions from management.
• Undergoing any training that is required of you to be able to carry out your job roles with in the catering department and that of the wider college.

• Working effectively with the Catering Team and other teams to contribute to the team plan and culture of excellence and to ensure that the College offers an outstanding service to students, staff and other stakeholders.
• Participating fully in appropriate professional development, meetings and planning to meet the needs of the team and the college.
• Attending staff meetings, briefings and team meetings and participating fully in discussions about work.
• Any other duties reasonably delegated by the Principal.
