Reporting to Stephen Farrell, our experienced Director of Wines, you will be based in our Tudor Room, 1 Michelin Star, 4 Rosette Restaurant focusing on wine and beverage sales and service. Our Tudor Room seats 20 guests.
Your passion for wine must be matched with excellent knowledge and the ability to communicate in a friendly and confident way with guests to ensure they get the best dining experience.
While all round wine knowledge is required a specialism in a particular wine region is always an asset.
You must have the ability and confidence to do wine pairing and with experience of working with wine flights would be a distinct advantage.
You should be professional and proficient in all aspects of Wine and Beverage service.
Working under the direction of the Director of Wines you will be responsible for the care, management and cleanliness of wine cellars, fridges, stores and all associated equipment and glassware.
A flexible approach to working must be in your culture and weekend working is definitely a requirement of this role as our Tudor Room is busiest over this period and closed on a Monday and Tuesday.
Main daily duties Include;
- Preparing the Tudor Room and service areas for service
- Greeting guests at their table and presenting Wine Menus
- Taking guest orders
- Serving wine and beverages
- Completing satisfaction checks
- Resolving any service issues
- Assisting service staff to ensure correct bills are presented to guests
- Clearing and resetting the service areas at the end of the shift ready for the next service
- Ensuring work area is clean and tidy before departing
- Sommelier or Asst Sommelier experience in a similar fine dining restaurant
- Demonstrate a career progression in wine
- Ideally a holder of WSET Grade 2 or above
- Be smart, presentable and have excellent communication skills
- Experience in wine sales
£21- £23,000 + IRO £3,500 service charge
- Accommodation available if required in Egham
