Events & Campaigns Fundraiser

37.5 hrs per week

£23,270 – £26,300 depending on depth and variety of experience

Based at our Eastbourne Office, with 1-2 days a week at our Worthing Office

Chestnut Tree House children’s hospice near Arundel works across Sussex, providing care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions and their families. St Barnabas House in Worthing provides specialist palliative care to adult patients with advanced progressive life-limiting illnesses.

The fundraising events portfolio for the hospices is growing, and so too is our need for talented, fundraising event professionals. With exciting and challenging plans we are looking to recruit an Events and Campaigns Fundraiser to work with our successful team.

You will need to develop, plan, market and deliver a number of different events, including our new Wonder Walk event in East Sussex, Overseas Challenge Events, our Bi-annual Open Days and other mass participation and third party events.

Educated to a good standard, the successful applicant will have organisational and planning skills and a good understanding of fundraising and donor stewardship; 2 years’ experience in event organisation and marketing is essential. You must have excellent inter-personal and communication skills, be able to line manage one or two staff, as well as problem-solve, manage risk and think on your feet.

If you are looking for a challenging and varied role, working as part of a great team, creating and delivering excellent events, whilst making a real difference to the lives of people facing life-limiting illness in Sussex then this is the job for you.

A full driving licence and own transport are essential for this post.

For an informal discussion about this post, please contact Tanya Hunt, Head of Events and Special Projects on 07483 131994.

Interview date: Friday 7th June 2019

Benefits included:

  • Enrolment onto our company pension scheme or the option to continue in the NHS pension scheme
  • Up to 35 days’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
  • Free parking
  • Option to join Healthcare Cash Plan

An enhanced DBS will be sought, if you are successful in this role. The safe recruitment of staff at St Barnabas Hospices is the first step to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults in our care. As an employer we expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment to safeguarding.

If you have the drive and passion to succeed please visit our website for further infromation on how to apply.  All applicants will be asked to complete a St Barnabas application form.
