We are immediately seeking a Highways Engineer to join our clients expanding offices in Brighton on a permanent basis.
Our client is an award winning multi-disciplinary Engineering consultancy delivering vital services for public sector clients and private sector businesses. Due to significant growth throughout 2018 we are now looking to add a Highways Engineer with Infrastructure experience in the sector to work in the business on a range of schemes.
As the successful Engineer you will be responsible for working on a range of Highways schemes, including Highway design (S38/S278) both preliminary and detailed & Drainage design both strategic and detailed.
Duties include:
·Conduct any liaison or consultation with statutory authorities or undertakers as necessary to implement the construction of the project.
·Can complete work to the Quality Standards applicable to the project as directed
·Can learn new skills, with guidance
·Demonstrates a professional attitude
·Contributes to a shared ownership of workload
·Has a proactive approach to projects and systems
·Preparing reports & contract documents
·Production and checking of drawings (AutoCAD)
·Communicating with suppliers, clients, contractors, the public and other engineers
·Analysing problems and developing innovative solutions
Key Skills
·Accredited degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering
·Consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
·In depth understanding of Highway/ Engineering Design and design standards
·Knowledge of engineering design, related legislation, contract procurement and contract administration
·Comprehensive knowledge of relevant technical and industry standards
·Good project management skills and financial management
·Evidence showing continuous professional development
