CONTRACTS MANAGER (CONSTRUCTION)

This role is for a Contracts Manager to join a well-established regional main contractor who have been successfully trading in the local area for over half a century. They operate throughout Surrey and the surrounding counties. Projects are across a broad range of main contracting including new build, refurbishment & extensions in sectors including Residential, Commercial, Education, Retail, Healthcare & Leisure with values typically between £500k & £15M. The company have an established and highly experienced management team and this role becomes available due to internal promotion. This contractor prides themselves on the stability and cohesion of their workforce at all levels, with people being valued for the role they play no matter what level. This gives them security in delivering projects to a high technical standard, with confidence to satisfy or exceed the client's expectations, often winning repeat business and referrals on the back of this.
You will be a professional and determined Contracts Manager with good technical ability and you will have experience and a strong track record of managing projects from inception to satisfactory completion and handover. As Contracts Manager you will be responsible for health & safety, environmental and quality compliance, as well as the financial monitoring and control of the projects. You will report to the Construction Director and will develop and build good relationships with the site managers, commercial team and the wider project team including subcontractors, clients and stakeholders.
You will have the following skills and experience:
* Good working knowledge of contract conditions.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written
* Excellent organisation and time management skills
* Able to work well under pressure
* Be able to motivate yourself and others
* A broad understanding of all trades and a thorough understanding of the construction process
* Able to oversee 3/4 projects simultaneously
You will have the following Qualifications :
* HNC/HND or degree level equivalent in a related construction subject
* Ideally, membership of an appropriate professional institution
* CSCS, SMSTS & First Aid at Work
You will be able to evidence a solid track record operating in this position or a closely associated role; will have a clear commitment to quality, teamwork and delivering high quality projects on time and within budget to the clients' satisfaction.
