Receptionist/Office Manager Description

Our working environment at Brandwatch really matters to us and the wellbeing of our people is absolutely crucial. As our Receptionist, you’ll be the keystone of the Brighton office, ensuring things operate smoothly and that the workplace is not just fit for purpose but a great place to work.

This pivotal position would suit a super-organized, ultra-confident and genuinely gregarious individual. You’ll be the first face people see in the morning and you’ll be kept busy with a variety of tasks.

As you’d expect with a receptionist role, the phone will need answering and visitors will require greeting, which is where you come in. Our communal breakout area is the heartbeat of the office, which needs to be kept clean and tidy and the cupboards stocked full of supplies. In addition to this you will be asked to;

  • Book onsite and offsite meeting rooms
  • Assist with travel and hotel bookings
  • Order stationery and equipment
  • Deal with our service providers
  • Support with health and safety
  • Arrange monthly company lunches and assist with office perks including ordering the weekly food shop
  • Assist the People team and EA to CEO/CMOwith ad hoc duties
  • Basic IT-support (place the order for IT equipment, provide staff with necessary equipment, check batteries and cables etc.)
  • Help organise and overseeing social events for the Brighton team including the summer and christmas parties
  • Expenses & dealing with petty cash
  • Assist with all areas of office management for our London office e.g weekly food, stationery and social events
  • Assist with office design, updates, general maintenance and office moves, if necessary
  • Be in charge of international shipments/ couriers

First impressions are everything, so you’ll need to be professional and bursting with positive energy. It’s more than likely you'll have your hands full performing a number of different jobs, so possessing strong prioritisation skills would be a real advantage.

This role is highly autonomous, and therefore requires someone with plenty of initiative with the ability to make decisions when necessary. We’d love you to have the following skills

  • Polished communications skills – both verbal and written
  • Pitch perfect planning skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Major league multi-tasking ability
  • Creativity, unflappability and ice-cool nerves under pressure
  • A recognized qualification in office skills could also help (e.g. a diploma or certificate in Administration)
  • A predilection for pushing the boat out rather than waiting for your ship to come in - we are building a fun and colourful company here, not a drone factory.
