An exciting career development opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and innovative practitioner to join the West Sussex Healthy Child Programme (HCP) as an Area Manager for the West Sussex area, based at Horsham Hospital. Experience as a school nurse is desirable in order to complement the existing management team.

The West Sussex HCP service is commissioned by West Sussex County Council and works within the Integrated Prevention and Earliest Help (IPEH) service to deliver services to children, young people and their families residing in West Sussex.

The successful candidate will work closely with the other two Area Managers and the Head of Service in West Sussex to ensure delivery of the HCP service specification. They will supervise a number of team leads and specialist posts, and liaise with HCP colleagues in the Brighton and Hove area as well as the local IPEH Hub leads.

The HCP teams comprise health visitors, school nurses and skill mix staff who link closely with IPEH and other partners across the Sustainability & Transformational Partnership (STP) footprint, actively contributing to the Local Maternity System plan. The West Sussex HCP service is UNICEF Baby Friendly accredited; use CHAT Health & Family Assist as well as promotional guides. The HCP teams are about to undertake the Speech, Language and Communications Needs (SLCN) training, as well as Parental Conflict training.
