Job Title: Mobile Assistant Charity Shop Manager / Assistant Store Manager
Salary: £8.21 per hour + mileage from central office to place of work
Location: Across various stores in Sussex, but with a central base in Haywards Heath - Driving licence is essential
Duration: Permanent, Part-Time
Hours: 2, 3, 4 or 5 days depending on candidate- 9am - 5pm, to include some Saturdays
Benefits: 25 days annual leave pro rata
The Mobile Assistant Charity Shop Manager role is a varied and an exciting role that will see you providing support to a number of different stores where it's needed and you will therefore be based at different shops during the week.
My client has 3 positions available and are able to be a little flexible with regard to the successful candidates preferred working schedule. They can accommodate 2, 3, 4 or 5 days a week depending on your needs, but are looking for someone who can approach their work in a flexible way.
This new position with our client aims to assist the shop manager when they're present and be responsible for the day to day management of Hospice Shops when they are absent. The Assistant Charity Shop Manager will ensure that the shops are run in accordance with established policies, procedures and that legal requirements are met.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily banking, administrative tasks and daily sales records
- On occasions to visit the central warehouse to sort and select donated goods.
- Maximise Gift Aid opportunities
- Organise donated goods ready for despatch to central warehouse
- Ensure that the shop is well stocked with appropriate good quality items and that the stock is rotated in accordance with Shop policy.
- Help maintain the weekly rotas of Shop Volunteers so the shop is always adequately staffed.
- Supporting the shop managers to ensure that high standards of presentation are met with attractive product displays, that the premises are kept clean, tidy and health and safety regulations are adhered to.
- To ensure that volunteers are supported and occupied and that duties are delegated to them appropriately.
- To attend regular training sessions and meetings
Key Skills
- Must have a full driving license and use of car so you can travel between shops, attend meetings and select stock from the main warehouse.
- Basic IT literate to carry out daily sale records.
- Excellent customer service both in the shop and on the telephone.
