Chailey Heritage Foundation is a pioneering charity providing education, care and transition planning for young people aged 3-25 with complex physical disabilities and health needs.

Our aim is to provide a stimulating and inclusive environment where all young people are given every opportunity to make progress towards fulfilment and develop life skills in preparation for adulthood.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a SEN School Cook to work in our newly constructed ‘Dream Centre’.  Your role will involve providing catering to meet the needs of the school by planning a range of inspirational menus and preparing meals for a wide range of special diets.

In this role you will be responsible for the following key responsibilities:

  • The provision of all catering to meet the needs of the school
  • Planning a range of inspirational menus to meet the unique needs of our pupils
  • Liaison with dietician, nurses and speech and language therapists to ensure dietary needs of all pupils are met
  • Budgeting, liaising with suppliers and ordering of provisions
  • Preparation of meals for a wide range of special diets, including blended diets, a range of textures and moulded foods

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Current Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of food preparation for children and young adults with complex dietary requirements (or ability to develop required skills)
  • Ability to prioritise and respond to differing demands as pupils’ needs change
  • Excellent communication skills
  • A willingness to learn and develop
