This is a temporary role which may lead to permanent employment in the future. The company are an engineering compa ny that operate internationally and they are looking for an assistant buyer/expedior to join the team

The duties for this role are as follows

An assistant buyer is required to assist the lead Purchaser in all aspects of the purchasing function, helping to reduce overall supply chain costs, increase efficiency and manage supplier relationships. This is a fast-paced role in a medium sized company requiring a proactive individual who is self-sufficient and can multi-task.

Purchasing support of current projects, workshop activities and company consumables;
Purchasing raw materials e.g: Steel, Composites materials and consumables for the Fabrication and composites departments;
There will also be an occasional need to drop off and pick up items from suppliers and meet visiting reps;
Generating delivery notes, packing and organising shipping;
Raising purchase orders and booking in goods received using Sage 50;
Assist with answering incoming telephone calls and other duties as required
Experience in a buyer/purchaser/expediter role in an engineering environment
Experience of material management into a production/manufacturing environment
Experience of Sage
Ability to read CAD drawings and answer technical questions from the suppliers relating to materials and specification
Clean driving license
Competent use of Microsoft packages, primarily Word and Excel

It is desirable to have experience of stores management and goods inwards procedures as well as competence in the einspection of engeered goods

There is parking on site and the hours are 8 - 4.30 with half hour for lunch
