Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting nursing students who are in their final year of university due to qualify in 2019.

Are you committed and compassionate about delivering excellent patient care in the community? If the answer is yes we have some exciting positions available across our community nursing teams which cover the Coastal area of West Sussex (areas outlined below).

Our community nurses play a crucial role in caring for our communities. Community nursing offers a role which is varied, with many opportunities to learn and develop skills whilst also supporting you to build confidence working autonomously in the community, with the support of a team. Our community nursing teams are made up of HCAs, Community Nurses, Cases Managers, Clinical Leads and a Team Lead. As well as providing direct patient care, community nurses also work with patients to enable them to care for themselves and work with family members teaching them how to give care to their relatives. Community nurses play a vital role in ensuring patients can receive care in their own homes and keeping hospital admissions and readmissions to a minimum.

Our community teams in the coastal area are based in Shoreham, Lancing, Worthing, Durrington, Rustington, Arundel, Bognor and Chichester (please state which area you interested in on your application at the end of your additional information).

As a newly qualified nurse working in the community we can offer you the following:
  • Support with clinical skills and mandatory training, annual performance reviews and development reviews and personal development plan that supports your career goals.
  • Continuing CPD development through our trust education and training programmes.
  • Regular clinical and management supervision.
  • Support from our practice facilitation team.

We also have a number of rotational posts available for community services.
