My client is seeking a Project Manager to join their team and manage the successful implementation of projects for their industry leading software products. The successful candidate will responsible leading client facing projects across the full lifecycle, as well as coordinating with internal stakeholders and teams that include Developers, Business Analysts and Testers.
Working on smaller projects and supporting existing clients you will lead projects that include web based implementations providing strong guidance and delivery focus as well as maintaining good client relationships throughout.
Role responsibilities:
- Project planning for all aspects of an implementation including the identification and monitoring of client activities which are critical to project success.
- Managing the client including client communication, reporting, account/project planning,resource scheduling and risk management.
- Providing strong leadership and clear decision-making in order that project work is carried out efficiently, with all issues resolved swiftly so progress is not impeded.
- Driving and directing activities throughout the full project lifecycle to meet tight project deadlines within defined budgetary/resource constraints including business analysis, development, testing, training, data transfer and Live implementation support.
- Maintaining project controls to actively manage change, risk and issues
- Monitoring the budget including the issue of project invoices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive working relationships
- Proven leadership skills and strong delivery focus
- Excellent planning and organisational skills and able to prioritise to meet deadlines and cope with fluctuations in workload
- Strong team building and management skills with the ability to motivate, lead and develop a team ensuring resources are organised appropriately and effectively
- Strong sense of customer service and demonstrates an understanding of the needs of customers, keeping them in mind when taking actions or making decisions
- Ability to deliver results within agreed timescales and to work within tight deadlines.
Experience:
- 2-3 years in a project management role managing full development lifecycle system implementations
- Experience of working at a low-level with multi-disciplined teams in a client facing/supplier environment, possibly with account management responsibilities
- Experience of working with formal project management methodologies
- Experience of defining and reporting progress against targets, providing highlights as necessary and taking actions to resolve exceptions
Desirable:
- Experience of the Asset Finance / Insurance premium finance sector is ideal, although experience with a related financial emphasis such as finance, banking, or insurance is also relevant.
- Experience in managing offshore teams
