We are seeking a confident individual with a passion for food to join our kitchen brigade. You will be supported by an experienced and talented team, fantastic systems and some of the most amazing suppliers. We are a busy site producing all our own menus from freshly sourced local ingredients, including our own kitchen garden. All chefs in our kitchen are expected to be involved in designing, developing and creating new dishes. Our high company standards must be met at all times, ensuring that recipes are followed and dish specifications are met every time.  

You will be expected to assist with meeting our company food GP target of 72%. This role will require you to be organised and have the ability to follow lists and prioritise. At busy and peak times you will be required to work at a fast pace. You will be expected to meet company and statutory health and safety requirements at all times.

Your duties will consist of:

  • Food preparation
  • Kitchen hygiene
  • Food standards 
  • Plating food
  • Working within a hard working team
  • Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy

The Bull in Ditchling are looking for an Apprentice Chef who will be working as part of a team of 8 full time chefs in a busy kitchen. The Apprentice will produce all of their own menus which change seasonally, whilst working towards their NVQ Level 2. There may be an option of a Level 3 but this depends on previous experience.
