The role requires someone who is well versed in the UK (and key international) media, on top of the news agenda and industry trends and is an excellent writer / content creator. We’re looking for a driven, action-oriented individual who is happiest whilst executing on fast-paced opportunities.

As the UK Communications Manager at Brandwatch you will work closely with the Head of Communications & Content and the Senior Communications Manager (based in the US). You will be securing a steady stream of Tier 1 media coverage, engaging influencers, authoring interesting content and writing press releases, highly curated media pitches, research based reports and much more.

We are in the midst of our most exciting year to date and are adding to our Communications team to help realise our growth ambitions.

We are looking for someone who can really engage with our key stakeholders and generate quality coverage and content around Brandwatch’s innovative software technology, insights and people.  

Your role will include:

  • Proactively and reactively engaging with the media, influencers and other key stakeholders.
  • Creating and nurturing excellent relationships with the top tech, business and marketing reporters / editors in the UK.  
  • Analyzing social media and online data using the Brandwatch platform and wider product suite (Crimson Hexagon, Audiences, Vizia, BuzzSumo & Qriously), plus other data sets. Using findings to craft compelling stories for the media and beyond (pitches, press releases, bylines, blog posts, infographic content, data analysis and more).
  • Using a wide range of data sources to fulfil media requests and to proactively pitch insight led stories and create engaging content for our customers and prospects.
  • Contributing to global content planning – crafting ideas and helping to develop and brainstorm creative, thought-provoking content that generates coverage and brand awareness.
  • Avidly watch breaking news, industry trends and popular culture events for rapid response PR opportunities and to knowledge share across the business.
  • Experimenting with bold and unique PR tactics.
  • Assisting the awards and events team with smart submissions and recommendations.
  • Measuring, evaluating and reporting on key team metrics.

We are seeking:

  • Four plus years of experience in PR / media relations / creating and delivering communications campaigns, copywriting and data driven content creation.
  • A relevant undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
  • Proven experience in tech or consumer PR at an agency or in-house.
  • An avid writer who feels comfortable working with data and writing compelling content for use in a range of communications work. Able to articulate complex ideas simply, in plain language.
  • A creative storyteller who can take content ideas and themes and create relevant and compelling content that our customer base and prospects value.
  • An excellent knowledge of the news agenda and key trends in the tech industry and beyond.
  • Proven experience in gathering data, performing analysis, developing in-depth insights and visualising / presenting data findings.
  • Documented examples of coverage you have achieved and stories you have created / comms campaigns you have been a part of.
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative and accountable individual who is comfortable multitasking and working effectively as part of a global team.
  • Experience working in marketing tech, social media analytics, market research or related industries would be a huge advantage.
  • A team player that can think fast on their feet.
  • Energetic, assertive and enthusiastic individual that is deadline-driven, yet thorough.
  • Responsive, transparent, and responsible PR pro.
  • Data analysis experience (or keen interest to learn).
