Our knowledge and expertise are grouped around Practice areas including Fragile and Conflict-affected States (FCAS), Human Development, Inclusive Growth, Social Protection, Climate Change and Livelihoods, and Governance and Institutional Strengthening. Our Business Support team encompasses Business Development, Project Management, Finance, HR, Travel and Operations.  We continue to grow in size, commercial performance and professional reputation and we are increasingly recognised as a global leader with a diverse client base including international development agencies and philanthropic foundations.   

The Role

This is a newly created role within the HR team which will lead the development and delivery of our L&D programmes to ensure our teams have the right skills and opportunities.  Working with the leadership team and Knowledge Hub, you will identify both current and future development across individuals and teams.   You will influence and support leaders to ensure that there is an embedded learning culture that is commercially viable and can support our growth.  There are four key areas of focus:

Internal L&D Programme:  We pride ourselves on the skills and expertise of our team and, more importantly, how we share that learning.  Our L&D Programme draws on this expertise and you will lead on identifying and curating content alongside our internal experts and Knowledge Hub

Analyst Development Programme:  One of our key priorities is the development of a Graduate Programme which will enable us to develop a substantive talent pipeline.  You will work across the business to shape and deliver a market leading graduate training programme

Leaderships Programme:  You will be leading on the development of a structured Leadership programme which supports a pathway to Partnership and is based around our Strengths Framework

Learning Platform:  We have recently invested in an online learning platform for internal and external users.  This includes induction, Safeguarding and compliance training and you will be identifying and developing future modules.

 

About you

You will be an experienced development professional, ideally with a supporting qualification who is able to flex your knowledge from 1:1 support to development of longer term development programmes using a variety of learning methodologies.  You will be comfortable owning the full delivery cycle providing the administration and operational support of L&D through to partnering with key stakeholders within the business.

Being self-aware you will deploy active listening techniques and flex your personal style to different situations.  As a team player you will be able to work without direct supervision but feel comfortable asking for support and input when you need it.  You will have worked within a team that has varying responsibilities and will be able to contribute when needed.  Being Itad focussed you will pro-actively seek solutions that will benefit the whole team and have experience of contributing to initiatives that are outside of your direct responsibility.  As a relationship investor you will be able to quickly establish key relationships across the business to understand requirement.  As an active learner you will share your own knowledge and expertise with other and be proactive in developing a positive learning environment using a wide range of approaches.    Being commercially focussed you will demonstrate your ability to find viable options for the business that meet the learning needs whilst taking into account budgetary requirements.

 

Your experience is likely to have been gained in a similar sized organisation and preferably within the International Development field although this isn’t essential. 

The salary for this role is up to £38K, depending on your skills and experience. 

In addition, we also offer, 24 days holiday plus additional time off over Christmas, matched company pension up to 5%, and a discretionary bonus.  Other benefits include Cycle to Work scheme, eyecare vouchers, weekly fruit, and subsidised yoga classes in our offices.
