Job Duties

Principal Accountabilities: 

1. To build effective and valued business partnerships at Director, MD and Board level that enable the right business outcomes by planning and leading the implementation and managing the performance of the LGRI IT&T Business Partnering internal (inter-departmental) and external (supplier) capabilities, including structures, accountabilities, processes, people & skills.  

2. To promote IT&T’s vision, values, services and capabilities to the business units and attain ‘Trusted Business Technology Advisor’ status, including recommending and delivering new and innovative technology solutions that will deliver tangible and / or qualitative benefit to the business units and to act as an advocate on behalf of business leaders to ensure IT&T alignment with business priorities whilst managing their expectations of technology capability and delivery. 

3. To own the IT strategy on behalf of the business units, and by owning the related technology delivery plans work to ensure they have the IT systems & controls, operations, data and analytics in place to meet their business agenda, and support business unit management in realising the benefits and business value associated with those plans.  

4. Continually review the impact of internal and external challenges to ensure the IT&T business partnerships model and strategy remains fit for purpose, identifying and resolving conflicts and agree additions, deletions or modifications to the organisation with the senior leadership team. 

5. Deliver effective, timely and relevant communication to ensure all interested parties including stakeholders and senior executives are fully informed of the functions development and progress with regards to strategy, plans and capability development and effectiveness. .  

6. To take the lead in all matters with regard to the management of employees, ensuring that management discretion is used in a consistent manner and that the area follows the Group’s policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement to maximise business performance. 

7. To ensure approach to and work delivered supports L&G’s commitment to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) to ensure the right outcome and excellent service delivery. 

Skills Required

  • Degree and/or MBA educated- desirable but not essential or suitable comparable/demonstrable equivalent role experience and capability. 
  • Business Partnering / Relationship Management accreditation/experience - desirable 
  • Knowledge of, and exposure to, business models, operating models, new technologies and digital environments, budgeting and risk management 
  • Exposure and understanding of existing and emerging IT & Change/Transformation management disciplines and business partnering capabilities. 
  • Developing effective business & technology capability roadmaps; articulating business value and outcomes.   
  • Leading the development and delivery of technology & change strategies for businesses and proven, practical approach in supporting business to achieve vision and targeted outcomes. 
  • Proven ability to build valued successful working relationships, networks and team dynamics to deliver collaborative outcomes. 
  • Proven background in influencing senior stakeholders and developing outcomes that challenge their original thinking.   
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritise, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions. 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to clearly define issues and make tough decisions in the face of ambiguity and incomplete information.
