Exciting opportunity to join a first class community healthcare service!

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust (SCFT) is looking for hardworking and enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurses (RNA) to join our amazing team working on Don Baines Ward at Bognor Regis War Memorial Hospital. The 24 beds on Don Baines Ward are for short term rehabilitation for patients over the age of 18, with the aim of preventing unnecessary acute hospital admissions and supporting timely discharges from the local acute hospitals.

We offer you:
  • Flexible working to suit your lifestyle
  • Continued professional development
  • Staff wellbeing programme
  • NHS Pension Scheme
  • Blue Light Card for high street discounts
  • Free onsite parking

Our aim is to empower patients to work as partners in their care, respecting their individual choices and differences, and encouraging self care where possible. We provide a service that supports patients to maximise their ability to live independently and return home.

Our Band 5 Registered Nurses lead a small team of Healthcare Assistants on a shift. They are responsible for contributing to care, observing, monitoring and recording patients' progress, and communicating and effectively managing any changes in their conditions and planning their safe discharge. They holistically assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care, whilst working in an integrated manner with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring patients reach their rehabilitation potential. We work on a shift system including weekends, bank holidays and occasional night duty by arrangement.
