Our Adult Safeguarding Team is looking for a skilled, experienced and dynamic healthcare professional to support the delivery of the safeguarding adults agenda across the Trust in line with national and local legislation and guidance. You will need excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to support and advise all staff to ensure that the fundamental rights of every person to live a life that is free from harm and abuse is embedded into Trust-wide care delivery. You will also need the necessary leadership qualities to enhance the delivery of adult safeguarding so that adults within our care consistently experience high quality care, with positive outcomes that are shaped by their individual needs and preferences.

The successful candidate will work with all staff, across both community hospital and community based settings, to deliver safeguarding adults' complex case work. They will have excellent verbal, written communication and analytical skills to lead on monitoring and evaluating the quality and effectiveness of training, data collation, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

They will carry out training on topics relevant to the safeguarding adults' agenda including the Mental Capacity Act (2005), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (2007), Care Act (2014) and Prevent (2015). In addition, they will also possess excellent skills to support the detailed analysis of adult safeguarding concerns, information gathering, and writing health enquiry reports. Have having the ability to demonstrate a good understanding of roles and responsibilities within the health and social care environment is paramount, and when required they will participate in joint working with key stakeholders such as patients/clients using services and statutory and voluntary organisations within the area.

Although the main area of work will relate to Horsham, Crawley and Mid Sussex, there is an expectation to take an active part in the safeguarding adults service across all of the SCFT area
