Martlets are seeking a Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and implement a marketing strategy aligned to Martlets mission and goals.

As Head of Marketing and Communications you will provide expert strategic advice on how we engage with our audiences.  You will play a hands-on role in supporting Martlets in achieving its mission to reach more people across Brighton, Hove and the surrounding areas though developing strong, consistent and effective marketing and communications tools and channels.  You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of 7.

Main duties will include:

  • Developing and delivering the marketing and communication plans for all areas of the organisation- Clinical, Fundraising, Trading, People Services, Support Services and the Leadership Team  
  • Developing, and being guardian of, the Martlets Brand 
  • Developing a multi-channel marketing offer, delivering marketing campaigns and collateral to promote our services, raise awareness of our brand, to build loyalty, to raise funds and increase our number of supporters

Key Skills required:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a marketing or communications discipline.
  • A minimum 4 years’ Marketing and Communications management experience in a similar role with evidence of working at a strategic level.  
  • Excellent interpersonal and people management skills with proven ability to build and motivate a diverse team. 
  • Experience and skills in Direct Marketing, ideally in the NFP sector. 
  • Good understanding and knowledge of Digital Marketing and Social Media. 
  • Strong brand management and development skills.
