Job Duties

The Resource Planning Manager (RPM), LGRI, will manage and maintain all resource forecasts and plans to effectively manage resources (for example technology, real estate, facilities, IT, staffing) and provide reporting and KPI measurements/dashboards across the IT&T function. The RPM will manage the resource reporting processes, creation of forecasts and scenario planning and analysis across the IT&T organisation and make recommendations to managers to help meet strategic objectives. The RPM will participate in evolving methodologies, processes, tools and techniques to drive maximum value in the delivery of effective performance reporting across IT&T. 

Principal accountabilities: 

1. Development and production of regular and ad-hoc resource planning reports across IT&T ensuring sufficient frequency, granularity, accuracy and insight to actively facilitate appropriate management decision making 

2. Make recommendations to managers regarding current resourcing levels against anticipated future resourcing requirements and working with them to put strategies/plans in place to ensure resourcing requirements are in place to help meet business objectives. 

3. Manage and maintain the resourcing dashboards and metrics their timely completion, validation, submission, tracking and reporting in line with expected timescales 

4. Participate in evolving methodologies, processes, tools and techniques to drive maximum value in the delivery of effective performance reporting 

5. Provide analysis across resource diversity measures and resource type measures over short and longer term durations to assist in setting resource and talent planning strategies across IT&T 

6. Manage, motivate and develop employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the Company’s policies and procedures the including Partnership Agreement, to maximise the performance of the area.  

7. To ensure approach to and work delivered supports L&G’s commitment to Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) to ensure the right outcome and excellent service delivery.  

Skills Required

  • Degree and/or MBA educated- desirable but not essential or demonstrable equivalent role experience and capability 
  • Resource planning and forecasting experience with track record of effective management & reporting  
  • Experience of delivering effective resource plans and dashboards across complex geographical / functional matrix organizations.  
  • Proven track record of supporting the preparation of resource forecasts and recommendations to effectively manage delivery of large, complex, change and technology initiatives 
  • Technology appreciation and awareness  
  • Track record of building effective relationships to ensure approved agreed delivery plans 
  • Proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas 
  • Ensuring Resource reporting confidence across all levels with technical and non-technical audiences  
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work independently focusing on priorities, and managing a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions 
  • Collaborative worker who freely shares their knowledge and experience with good influencing skills, ability to develop and mentor individuals   
  • Develop, get buy-in and deliver approaches across the organisation and wider division and track record of building effective relationships  
  • Effective at making good decisions and delivering great outcomes in in line with IT&T strategy  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions
