Job Details

Here at Chailey Heritage Foundation, we have a very special young man who has been a resident with us for a number of years, but is now ready to move into his own adapted home.

We are now looking for a team of people in Kent, with the ability to travel to his home near Edenbridge, to support him to live independently.  Here’s what he has to say:

SEE THE PERSON BEFORE THE DISABILITY……

My name is Christopher and I am looking for team of people to support me so I can move to my new specially adapted home.

I have many interests that I would like you to support me with, such as swimming (I have my own pool) the gym, bowling, art and multi-media - in particularly computer games. I have a mean competitive streak so be ready to play hard! I also like to get out and socialise, and enjoy musicals and comedians. And speaking of comedians, I have a wicked sense of humour and enjoy a bit of banter!

I have a tendency to get anxious so I need you to help me build up my confidence by getting to know me and my routines really well, and by providing me with lots of information so I can make the best choices. I’ll need you to have plenty of enthusiasm and to be positive and  encouraging.

I am very loyal with a strong sense of what is right and wrong, and last year shared my experiences with clinicians as a disabled man as part of a national enquiry and as a result was interviewed on Channel 4.

When I move, I want to continue visiting the Life Skills Centre at CHF. I have my own vehicle so you will need to be a driver.
