Our client, a large organisation based on the outskirts of Brighton is looking for a Commercial Energy Specialist dealing with the procurement of buying energy for the business, you will work within the Commercial team.

This is an exciting opportunity for somebody with a Commercial mind-set looking to develop a career in energy for a large organisation. This opportunity has arisen due to the expansion of the Commercial Energy team, which has been tasked with creating focus, insight and commercial value regarding the company's second largest operating cost.

This role has been created with succession planning in mind, and with the remit of helping to drive commercial value from energy in the form of:

Supplier day to day management and performance reporting / management
Leading Energy tender events
Energy hedging strategy and price forecasting
Projects relating to areas such as sub-metering, energy resilience, batteries and renewables, including working with the Southern Water Innovation team and supporting on business case development
Industry knowledge and opportunity identification gained from attending industry events

You will:

Be degree educated and / or qualified by demonstrable experience
Have at least an intermediate knowledge of Microsoft suite
Have a desire to develop and capitalise on opportunities to complete CIMA or Chartered Energy Qualifications (Energy Institute) should they become available.
Be an important liaison between all internal and external stakeholders so strong communication skills and the ability to influence and challenge others to ensure best solution for project issues is important.
You must also have the ability to analyse data to help inform decision making, and be commercially minded.
