Who are we looking for?

The Role

For the full Job Description, please visit our website.

Compassionate Neighbours is free, community-led support for people nearing the end of life through age or illness, or who are lonely or socially isolated. Compassionate Neighbours can really make a difference; they are a network of trained volunteers who are willing to offer their time, companionship and support to people living in their community.

Your Experience

As Project Manager you will have significant experience of community development and project management and will be used to delivering tight deadlines and project milestones. You will be responsible for managing the relationships between the hospice, the Compassionate Neighbour volunteers, beneficiaries and the organisation leading on the volunteer recruitment and training. You will be people-focused, quick to act and deliver and able to compile data and write succinct reports.

You will need to have substantial experience of working with volunteers and preferably have experience of end of life care issues. Ideally you will have experience of working in vulnerable people’s homes and working with people with multiple complex issues. You will be confident in representing the project and the hospice to external groups at all levels.

You will need your own transport to fulfil the duties of this role within the community and to travel to work as we are in a very rural location which is not serviced by public transport.

The Perks of the Job

  • Induction and ongoing training & development
  • 33 days holiday FTE
  • 5% employer, 3% employee pension
  • Free onsite parking
  • Free teas and coffees
  • Free BUPA Employee Assistance Programme
  • 20% staff discount in our charity shops
  • Free eye tests and allowance towards glasses.
