Staff Nurse In-Patient Unit

2 x Full Time Senior Staff Nurses (‘E’ Grade)

1 x Part Time Senior Staff Nurse  (‘E’ Grade)

Salary:            c£25,155 to £27,233 depending on qualifications and experience

Hours:            Full time – 37.5 hours (5 shifts) per week, Part time – 15 hours (2 shifts) per week

Essential:       Own transport essential due to our rural location

  • Reporting to an IPU Team Leader, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the person centred care of a group of patients on a daily basis that is of the highest quality.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for this role as is an ability to support the person and those important to them.
  • You will regularly participate in multi-disciplinary discussions with medical staff, Wellbeing services such as Counselling, Spiritual Care, Befriending and Welfare Support in order to meet the holistic needs of the patient.
  • As a strong team player you will be working alongside other qualified nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Nursing Associates and student nurses and will be supervising the nursing practice of junior members of staff.
  • A working knowledge of hospice policies and clinical guidelines is essential.
  • You will ensure that records are maintained in accordance with the NMC Code. You will also ensure that you comply with the General Data Protection Regulations.

Your Skills

  • General IT literacy: you will be using Windows10, Word and Outlook,  and our clinical system SystmOne
  • Good keyboard skills
  • Good literacy and numeracy to GCSE standard at least
  • Adaptable and quick to learn new skills and process information
  • Flexibility to work across teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A commitment towards achieving your formal qualification.
