My client is a multi-disciplined, cash rich, well known sub-contractor who are currently turning over £60M per annum. They specialise primarily within the water (waste water and clean water) and infrastructure areas of civil engineering, with offices in North London, Kent and on the south coast (this role will be based in there Kent office).

This position has come about due to continued and strategic ongoing growth but while the business is looking to expand, they are also keen to maintain their family feel atmosphere where it’s a fun working environment and everyone is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the directors across the company.

Due to my client continuing to grow they are now looking for a Planner to join their Pre-Construction team. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on clean Water contracts. As well as long term stability the role can offer somebody great progression routs through the company to become a Senior Planner then in the future run their own Planning team.

On top of standard planning activities my client is looking someone who can assist in the compilation of pricing clarifications for inclusion with tender submission. You must have had experience working for a well-known utility contractor. The successful candidate will also be involved in planning activities to go in line with the tender and contract requirements, liaise with management and engineers to review the progress of construction projects and address issues. The software you will be using will be Microsoft and P6.

The role will be based in their head office in their office in Kent but will also include site visits into London.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, Business of equivalent qualification.

You will need to have strong experience working on NEC3 contracts.

It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as a planner or an Estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (1-3 years per company you’ve worked for)

The successful candidate needs to have experience working on P6 and MSP.

You will also need a full UK driver’s license to allow you to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
