BL196 - High Voltage Senior Authorised Person (SAP)

Location: Crawley

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Overview:

First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a High Voltage SAP on Behalf of one of our clients. The successful candidate will oversee and involve themselves in maintenance, repair, installation and commissioning works within high voltage facilities in their area of responsibility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures at all times and play an active role in risk assessment.
  • To perform preventative and corrective maintenance on HV and LV systems.
  • To provide remote support to Authorised Persons performing HV switching operations.
  • Perform scheduled checks and maintenance actions on cabling and junction boxes (e.g. insulation checks, cable replacement, thermal camera checks).
  • Perform scheduled checks and maintenance actions on electrical components (e.g. inverters).
  • Assist with the compilation of insurance and warranty claims.
  • Assist with the construction of the plant as required.
  • Manage relationships with local subcontractors if required.
  • Provide reports on tasks undertaken.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Previously held authorisation as a Senior Authorised Person.
  • Experience in distribution systems through the range 400v to 33kV.
  • Educated to a minimum HNC level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of HV distribution systems.
  • Ability to read schematic drawings and understand content.
  • Knowledge of EAWR and HASAWA.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office suite, Outlook, and other bespoke software packages.
  • Full Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work in different environments.
  • Excellent analytical, organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to identify problems, understand key issues and investigate alternatives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proactive and takes initiative.
  • Flexible and organised to meet deadlines.
  • Must have the ability to work alone and as part of a team.
  • Manage your workload and communicate at all levels.
