LECTURER – FUNCTIONAL SKILLS ENGLISH/MATHS (Hastings)

30 hours per week, permanent post.

£22,535 - £33,895 p.a. pro rata.

Our Functional Skills team is seeking an enthusiastic Functional Skills English/Maths Tutor who is keen to develop their skills with vulnerable students and students who are not yet ready for mainstream programmes (16-18 year olds).

You must enjoy working with young people, to develop their skills and help them overcome their barriers to learning in a supportive yet structured environment.

The role is highly demanding and you will need to have drive, determination, excellent interpersonal skills, with a positive and flexible approach to working. You will also have the ability to work enthusiastically and reliably under pressure and need to be able to manage your time effectively, as the work involved would across both sites. In addition, you will have excellent verbal and written communication with service users, professionals and other team members.

You will have significant experience of delivering groups and working directly with young people. You need to be able to work in an innovative, creative and strengths-based way, in order to support young people in achieving their individual goals and plans.
