Location:- Brighton
Pay rate:- £25,000 - £28,000 basic + Overtime + bonus
Working 5 days per week, rotating over a 7 days week as some Saturdays and Sundays will be required on a rostered basis.
Role:-
My client is recruiting an MOT tester and Auto Technician to add to their growing team in Brighton as the garage has become a 7 day a week operation with a rotating system in place. If you work a weekend one week then you get 2 days of the following week and rotate this so you never work back to back weekends. You will be working for a large regional dealership with excellent training in place to allow Technicians to gain MOT qualifications as well as specific courses on Laptop diagnostics, Hybrid and Electric cars.
MOT Tester - Your role is to focus on MOT's but if quiet with no MOTs to carry out you will be required to do minor duties linked to MOT failures such as brake pads & discs, lights, steering alinement, Servicing, fluid replacement etc… You WILL NOT be carrying out any bigger jobs such as Clutches, Belts or Engine diagnostics.
Auto Technician - This role is carrying out the larger works away from the standard servicing such as clutch replacements, exhausts, Belts as well as the servicing and MOT checks. You will not carry out MOT testing in this role but you can take the qualification which is fully paid for and then you can move in to a MOT lead position.
Education:
Ideally You need to be a qualified Auto technician with at least an NVQ level 2 as a minimum
MOT Tester will need an MOT Licence for class 4 and 7, if this is expired they will pay for the refresher course for you.
