Salary: Minimum Wage
Location: Plumpton college at Netherfield, Nr, Battle TN33 9QB (with occasional cover at Plumpton college, Lewes BN7 3AE)
We are looking for a dedicated animal care technician to join our animal management team. Our established and wide ranging collection of exotic, small and large animal species is the hub of the College’s thriving animal management provision with students on courses ranging from Level 1 to BSc (Hons).
The animal care technician will maintain the excellent welfare and husbandry in the Animal Care Unit primarily at our Netherfield site. This is a part-time role working split shifts over the weekends. The shifts are: Morning shift - 08.30 – 10.30 and Afternoon shift - 15:00 – 17:00. This role may also include additional weekday shifts and some bank holiday shifts.
The ideal candidate will have experience of animal welfare and husbandry and. They will also need to be organised, hardworking and a confident team player who is adaptable and happy to take initiative as well as being able to work independently and unsupervised. Ideally you will have experience with a wide range of exotic and companion species. Due to the remote location, a full valid driving licence and own transport is essential.
