Health and Safety roles – Eastbourne or Hastings or Lewes

East Sussex College Group provides education for thousands of students and has around 1200 staff based across seven sites in East Sussex, stretching from Newhaven in the West to Ore in the East. We want everyone who visits one of our campuses to be safe - and stay safe. So we’re looking to expand our Health & Safety team to make this happen.

Our particular challenge is the range of learning environments, services and types of building we have – one day you could be assessing hazards in our motor maintenance workshops and the next, reviewing food hygiene in our commercial food outlets, plus we’ve got the usual challenges of office and teaching space.

Right now we’re looking speak to people who are interested in joining our team.  We’re developing the structure so we’ve got opportunities available right now and more coming in the next few months.  We’re interested in you if you want to work part-time or full-time.  It’s likely we’ll have roles from early to mid-career (minimum NEBOSH level 3 or equivalent) so if you’re looking to use your existing qualifications to develop yourself and your career, these may be right for you.

We’re also looking for colleagues (Tech IOSH minimum) who might want to work on a more flexible basis, perhaps undertaking an audit or inspection, either ad-hoc or regularly but infrequently.  These will probably suit you if you already work on a consultancy basis, or if you are semi or fully retired and want to maintain links with your profession.  This might be on a sessional or self-employed basis.

To help you decide if our jobs and the College are right for you we’re holding an open evening at our Eastbourne campus.  Come along and hear from our current Health & Safety team about the challenges and explore which opportunities are right for you.

Join us from 5.30pm on Thursday 17th October to find out more.
