Role- Mechanical Design Engineer
Salary- £28,000- £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Type- Permanent
Location- West Sussex
My client works within Medical Manufacturing and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Design Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the West Sussex area.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- BSc or BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Design
- 2 or more years’ industry experience ideally working in a similar design / development role within a manufacturing environment
- Be proficient with using ideally SolidWorks software for design
- PDM experience would also be advantageous but not essential
- Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical design and engineering principles
- Have knowledge of different materials such as sheet metal fabrication, castings and injection moulded plastics
- Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
- Have good communication skills both verbal and written
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
- Working within the Research & Development team
- Using SolidWorks CAD software for design on a day to day basis
- Creating drawings for manufacture and generating BOM’s
- Also working on design analysis and FEA when required
- Supporting projects for the company
- Working on both new products being developed as well as existing products
- Being involved from concept through to manufacture and launch
- Completing design specifications and risk assessments FMEA
- Supporting product Verification & Validation
- Being involved in hands on tasks too such as generating prototypes and test
- Supplier visits
