Linux Software Engineer required to join my client in East Sussex.

We are looking for a Software Engineer who is highly experienced with Linux to join a well established yet growing business in East Sussex. This business has hired over 40 members of staff in 2019 to aid and support them as they grow at a rate of 50% month on month. You will be joining a small team of engineers where your primary focus is to develop new features for our clients products.

You will be joining this business and working within Research and Development. All aspects of Design and Development happen on this site so you will see the full life-cycle of a product through the various stages.

What is the role?

As a Linux Software Engineer you will work with a small team of engineers where you will be responsible for the design and development of new features for our clients products as well as maintaining and supporting the current software.

This is a varied role as projects have short lifetimes with many of them never going over a few months - so there is always something new to work on!

The Software Engineer will be working throughout the full life-cycle development, you will be involved from specifying requirements, through design and implementation, testing and release.

Some of the responsibilities include:

Provide and maintain Linux Kernal support to include device driver implementation and modification for existing and future products.
Assist in developing a variety of embedded projects.
To make suggestions of any improvements for product development.
To produce technical documentation for future use.
What are we looking for?

To be considered for this Software Engineer position we are looking for:

Strong experience within a similar Software Engineering position.
Experience in 'C' Programming.
Experience with Linux interfacing for Embedded Systems.
Good understanding of debugging to hardware level.
Experience in programming one scripting language
