Chailey Communication Aid Service is looking for a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, multidisciplinary team.

We are one of 15 centres nationally who have been commissioned by NHS England to provide a specialist communication aid service. The service provides communication aid assessment and equipment to adults and children with complex disability in the geographical area of Sussex (including Brighton and Hove) and Surrey. Travel will be required within this area as most appointments are carried out within clients' homes, or at their schools and day centres.

The team consists of Clinical Scientists (including trainees), Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, a Therapy Assistant, a Specialist Stores Technician and an Administrator.

You will need to be motivated, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to work flexibly. You will need to be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist and ideally have knowledge of working with Electronic Assistive Technology (EAT) and in particular Voice Output Communication Aids (VOCAs).

The successful applicant will work as part of a friendly multidisciplinary team within a wider service that has a well-developed rehabilitation engineering service which provides a range of assistive technology. There will also be opportunities for working with other specialist services.

Training and support will be provided as required.

You will need a UK driving licence and the use of a car for business purposes.
