This is a brilliant opportunity for a qualified accountant (or a part qualified accountant who is committed to further learning) to develop their skills and support financial decision-making across a variety of professional services departments to maximise the use of financial resources and help the university achieve its objectives in a sustainable, controlled and accountable way.

Working in a well-established team, you will undertake the full range of management accounting work, including budget setting and monitoring, forecasting and advising Heads of Professional

 Services. The role also involves the financial management of a couple of multi-million pound grants.

To succeed in this diverse and interesting role, you will have:

•strong financial awareness and the ability to explain financial concepts to a wide range of stakeholders

•demonstrable Excel skills

•problem solving skills and the ability to provide financial support to organisational change

•oral and written communication skills

•an ability to work independently and proactively, and

•an understanding of the challenges of working in a large, complex organisation.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships 

This is a grant-funded scheme which enables companies to access resources and expertise they need to innovate, grow and improve their performance.

KTP enables a highly skilled graduate, known as an Associate, to be employed by the university to work full-time in your company leading a strategic project, with the support of an academic team with expertise relating to the project.  

Projects last between 6 months and 3 years; up to 67% of the project costs are provided by the Technology Strategy Board or another government sponsor.
