Test Development Engineer - To adapt existing automated test methods using 3rd party software to company Developed Test Systems for testing existing high voltage power supplies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and gain understanding of existing test software developed using Qualisystems TestShell package and in-house developed software testing methods.
Review effectiveness of existing automated testing and influence decisions to adapt or remove test processes.
Developing Excel VBA based in-house automated testing from TestShell ATE test scripts ensuring production test software is appropriate and available to an agreed schedule.
Project managing the transition of the test methods with Production for both at sub assembly level (if necessary) and at final test, liaising with sub-contractors as necessary.
Produce clear and precise production test documentation using MS Excel/VBA.
Ensure the equipment hardware is production ready and cost effective.
Ensure test automation is safe, effective, efficient and meets the needs of the end users (production test operators).
Taking ownership of the assigned projects ensuring all changes are documented and controlled correctly.
Ensuring familiarisation and adherence to the Company’s ISO 9001 Quality, ISO14001 Environmental and Health and Safety management systems including workmanship standards.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Professional or academic qualification in the field of electronic engineering or Computer Science/Software Engineering.
Experience using Test development software such as LabView or TestShell would be an advantage.
Experience developing Excel VBA (macros) essential.
Some familiarity in ATE software development, SQL used with Microsoft SQL Server and VB.NET.
Good electronic hardware knowledge/experience preferred.
Experience in developing automated testing an advantage.
Good background in production/service testing.
Proactive, self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
Knowledge of standard lab instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with both design and production personnel
