Do you have experience of working with children/young people with complex healthcare needs? Would you like to develop your skills in this area? We have a vacancy for a Senior Healthcare Assistant/Support Worker to work within the Rehabilitation Unit at Chailey Clinical Services, which is part of Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust. The unit is based by Chailey Heritage Foundation School and is just 7 miles from Haywards Heath.

The children/young people have a range of complex healthcare needs including ventilation, acquired brain injuries, physical, sensory and learning difficulties, and we are looking for someone to actively participate as a member of the nursing team and be responsible for contributing towards the smooth and efficient running of the service. Under supervision, you will also assist the qualified nursing staff in giving individualised care to patients.

This position requires the post holder to meet the ordinary and social needs of the young people under the guidance of senior staff. The aim is to maximise the potential of the young people whilst assisting them in those areas of daily living in which they are dependent. This can relate to washing and dressing, meeting personal hygiene needs, assisting at mealtimes, and lifting and handling.

The successful candidate will be required to work within a 24 hour/7 day a week rota.

This post may close earlier than the published closing date if sufficient applications are received.

Correspondence relating to this vacancy will be conducted electronically. Please ensure that you check your emails on a regular basis. References will be requested electronically also; please ensure you provide correct contact details for referees.
