Harvey John is working with an expanding digital business on sourcing an experienced Bookkeeper to work closely alongside their FC and help ensure effective management of their finance function. This established business is experiencing good growth, receiving recognised industry awards yearly, and successfully expanding its customer base. They can offer a dynamic, sociable office environment and a company culture that acknowledges and rewards its staff for their hard work.

The ideal candidate will come from a similar bookkeeping position and have a min 2 years+ relevant experience. They will be a highly organised and detail focused individual who is able to effectively self-manage. Experience of payroll is also required.

Responsibilities:

  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process
  • Reconcile sales taxes, payroll taxes and bank accounts at the end of each month
  • Monitor financial transactions and reports
  • Process accounts receivable and payable
  • Process cheques and payments
  • Understand ledgers
  • Handle monthly payroll using accounting software
  • Ad hoc duties as required by the FC

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles
  • At least two years bookkeeping experience
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Attention to detail and accuracy of work
  • Experience with accounting software such Xero
  • Able to prepare, review and understand a financial statement
