As the Senior Solution Design Architect for this major Financial Services organisation, you will manage & maintain a pipeline of solution designs that support the Technology & Transformation change & delivery programmes.

Utilising your broad systems experience across a range of different technologies, from legacy Mainframe applications & platforms through to modern Java, .NET & Cloud environments, the Senior Solution Design Architect will define & design the components to build & deliver the technology solutions required by the business.

Ideally suited to a Solutions Architect or Application Architect with a background in Regulated environments, the Senior Solution Design Architect will ensure effective solution designs are produced, tracked and managed to ensure effective delivery to agreed technical architecture standards.

The Senior Solution Design Architect will need to understand the technology changes required, design the required components & solutions, and work across the Development, Cloud & DevOps teams to ensure fast & accurate delivery.

Other Responsibilities Include:

Evolve methodologies, processes, tools & techniques, working as part of the delivery team. Ensure solutions created are cost effective and meet the requirements from the technical architecture and Enterprise architecture roadmaps and deliver the required outcomes for the business.

Checking that High level design (HLD) principles are being met and ensuring that non-functional requirements are fully captured and validate functional requirements from the customer for more traditional delivery. Resolving technical challenges & blockers as & when they are met.

Expected Skills & Experience:

• Solid experience as a Solution Architect or Application Architect within large & complex corporate environments.
• Experience of Financial Services or other Regulated Industries.
• Solution Design and portfolio experience with track record of effective management & reporting
• A broad base of technologies used and designed for ie. Legacy Mainframe, Java, .NET, Cloud platforms etc is highly beneficial.
• Experience of driving and implementing consistent solution design plans across complex geographical / functional matrix organisations in line with Architecture functions and roadmaps and proven background in adapting to trends and openness to new ideas
• Proven track record of solution delivery of large, complex, change and technology initiatives with strong evidence of building effective relationships to ensure approved agreed delivery plans
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to successfully engage and influence a broad range of individuals across various internal and external businesses and support functions

Useful Skills & Attributes:
Degree and/or MBA educated although experience is more important.
Prince 2 or similar project management and Agile qualifications preferred
PROSCI/Adkar & change qualifications are useful.
