An opportunity has arisen for a Highways / Transport Engineer with experience in Development Control and Sections 278 / 38 Engineering to join a client in East Sussex on contract basis. You will be responsible for providing specialist engineering advice for the design and the delivery of highway development and section 278 works as well as negotiating with developers and monitoring the works on site. Applications from Transport Planners with Development Control / Management experience will also be accepted.

This is a full-time contract position. The rate on offer is £35 - £40 per hour - negotiable for the right candidate. Flexible working arrangements available.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Providing specialist engineering advice on highway works secured through the planning progress
Leading on negotiations with developers to secure financial contributions via s278 and s38 agreements
Overseeing and approval of highway development works on site
Evaluating planning applications with associated highway works
