We are actively recruiting for a Designer Site Representative working nights. The role is full time, working up to 50 hours starting in November running through to March 2020.

Responsibility

Reporting to the Design Manager, you will be supporting the Contractor with the resolution of design queries raised on site relating to design and coordination of all disciplines, including drainage; earthworks, highways, lighting, comms/technology;
Preparing responses to Technical Queries relating to all issues raised by the Contractor;
Preparing for handover to the day shift:
producing summary reports of construction events during the nightshift requiring the Designer's attention;
gathering information on behalf of the Design Manager;
Point of contact/liaison for off-shore Design function;
Knowledge and experience of BS1192 workflows and use (and limitations) of BIM models;
Sound and rigorous skills in 'Information Management';
Proactively address raised concerns ensuring adequate consultation occurs, were required, with related parties (e.g. back office engineers and site-based team) and concerns are addressed and mitigated;
Maintaining and updating the associated series of the Works Information, as required, with support from the Design Manager and site and office-based teams;
In advance of works starting, ensuring all engineering designs are appropriate, specific to location and suitable for purpose;
Reviewing and recommending acceptance, or otherwise, of associated and relevant Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Material Approval Requests (MAR) and Non-Conformance (NCR) proposals;
Carrying out Designer's responsibilities and checking as required by ITPs for respective disciplines and activities;
Assist with producing and compiling Handover Information, as required;
Other duties as directed by the Design and/or Project Manager(s);Requirements

Previous experience of working on large highways / motorways / smart motorway projects;
Sound knowledge and understanding of Specification for Highways Works (SHW) and NEC3 Contract;
Excellent record keeping skills;
Good communicator;
Calm and logical under pressure;
Experience and competence for driving 'Chapter 8' liveried vehicles within Temporary Traffic Management (TTM);
Membership of a relevant professional institution or equivalent - preferred
