Registered Nurses – Community Services
St Barnabas House, Worthing
37.5 hours (part-time hours will be considered)
£25,720 - £35,440 p.a. depending on depth and variety of experience and qualifications in a similar role
St Barnabas House provides specialist palliative care to adults in the Worthing, Adur, Arun and Henfield areas through a range of services, including in-patient care, day hospice and community care.
This is an exciting time to join us at St Barnabas Hospice as we grow our Community Services Team and integrate our Community Specialist Palliative Care Team and Hospice at Home Team to support more people at end of life.
Our services work across 7 days a week 08:00--21:00 delivering direct planned and responsive care and supporting other professionals through our expertise and experience. Above everything else, our service is patient centered. We are seeking highly motivated, flexible nurses, passionate about delivering the highest standards of care with community and/or palliative care knowledge to be part of our community service team.
Junior RN responsibilities:
- The ability to work independently knowing when to refer on or seek advice
- Undertaking holistic assessment
- Delivering direct and indirect clinical care
- Providing specialist advice and Managing symptoms
- Supporting those who are anxious or distressed
- Liaising with appropriate general or specialist services,
- Avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions,
- Providing a rapid response visit
- Enable the patient to achieve their preferred place of care and death
- Full driving licence and access to a car for business use
Senior RN additional responsibilities:
- Providing specialist advice and Managing symptoms with senior support
- Avoiding unnecessary hospital admissions, through direct or indirect clinical care interventions
- Being responsive
- Responsibility for leading a shift
