£15.53 - £17.73 p.h depending on depth and variety of experience in a similar role (F.T.E. £30,290 - £34,580)

Chestnut Tree House is the children's hospice for East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire, providing specialist palliative care for children and young people with life-shortening conditions.

Chestnut Tree House Children’s Community Service delivers care to children and young people (CYP) with Life Limiting and Life Threatening conditions across Sussex and South East Hampshire. We provide clinical care and emotional support to the CYP and their family. We provide respite care to CYP enabling them alongside their families to enjoy life to the full. At the end of a CYP’s life we are able to provide specialist care and symptom management to enable the CYP to stay at home, if this is their choice.

We are seeking an experienced First Level registered Children's Nurse with excellent leadership and communication skills for this exciting opportunity to support our teams in delivering this service. Working flexibly within the 24/7 on-call service, you’ll demonstrate clinical excellence and maintain consistently high standards of individualised care and bereavement support.

Benefits include options to sustain your NHS pension (additional personal contribution required) and excellent continuing educational and professional development programmes.

A car and current UK driving licence are essential for this position and it is subject to an enhanced DBS check.

This a challenging yet rewarding role and requires dedication and commitment to ensure children and young people are at the centre of care. For further details please contact Andrea Ferns, Acting Clinical Lead Community Team, on 01903 871803.

Closing date: Ongoing recruitment, so apply now!

The safe recruitment of staff at St Barnabas Hospices is the first step to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and adults in our care. As an employer we expect all staff and volunteers to share our commitment to safeguarding.

If you have the passion and drive to succeed, please complete an application form. Alternatively, you can email your CV and covering letter outlining your experience and reasons for applying clearly stating which role you wish to apply for to hr@stbh.org.uk

We will treat each applicant fairly. The information you provide on your CV and covering letter is the only information we will use to decide whether or not to short-list you for interview.
